About Service Plan - from £20 per month

As a service plan customer you will be given priority for emergencies over others outside of the plan.
Some other policies that cost around £15-£20 a month and include cover for boiler controls, timers and room thermostats. But the list of exclusions within the terms and conditions runs to three of the ten pages and sometimes doesn’t include labour costs to deal with the problem which can be expensive. We don’t think this is fair on the customer, at Town Gas our labour is included, you just pay for parts.

How Do I Join?
On booking in your annual boiler service, please mention your interest in the cover and we can then arrange for the engineer to complete a full one off initial survey of the property at the same time.

Q. Who can apply?
Our service plan is open to any domestic homeowner, landlord or business. If you’re a tenant, you will need to check with your landlord before applying.
Q. Do prices vary when paying by direct debit?
No, monthly payments are the same.
Q. Do you have to inspect my property first?
Yes, it’s our standard practice to carry out an initial inspection survey of your heating and plumbing systems, this will be carried out at the boiler service visit.
Q. Is there a limit to the number of times I can call you out?
No, except for repeat visits where technical advice has not been followed.
Q. Are there any set-up fees?
NO - The survey and set up will be included in the service visit.
Q. Does Town Gas cover my whole heating and water system?
Yes, but for labour only. We can also guarantee that parts will be sold at below a RRP (recommended retail price), or you can supply parts yourself.
Q. What isn’t covered within the Service Plan?
Appliances such as water disposal units, washing machines, dishwashers, water softeners, saniflo systems, rainwater harvesting and solar heating systems are excluded from the service plan.
Q. But aren’t plumbing and heating parts expensive?
Good quality parts can be expensive, but over time will save you money because they are more reliable. On an average breakdown, call out charges and labour costs can really add up which is the main benefit of taking out our service plan.
